General Fortnite Rules

Additional game modes have been added please read the title and game mode of the tournament/wager you wish to join in order to understand the rules that apply to it.

From the match details page you will see match host and each teams gamer tags. The host is responsible for sending friend requests and inviting the non hosting team.

For 1 vs 1 the hosting team will start a Battle Royale Duo match, hosting squads for a duo match will result in a forfeit if the opponent can provide valid in game proof, pre-lobby proof will not be accepted. The hosting team has 30 seconds from the bus leaving the spawn area to realize the mistake and leave the game.

For 2 vs 2 the hosting team will start a Battle Royale Squad match.

Whichever team has the most kills at the end of the game wins. It is not based who lasts the longest.

In the event of a tie, the team that stayed alive the longest will receive the win. You must provide valid proof of living longer than your opponent. This means the last to go down/die will receive the win.

In the event of a Victory Royale and kill tie the team who got the last kill of a standing player will receive the win. Eliminations occuring in the kill feed after that final kill do not count as last kill in this scenario.

Teams may work together when playing. They also may kill steal, loot steal and follow each other around but are NOT allowed to destroy chests the opposing team are going for or build a wall that intentionally blocks your opponent from getting loot. Intentionally blocking your opponent's shots/travel or loot acquisition when not on a structure built by you or your team is a forfeitable offense if the act is found to be intentional and has a drastic effect on the outcome of the match it is at the admins discretion to forfeit the team. You can build platforms or walls on your OWN ramps after 3 builds high, if your opponent decides to use your ramp they risk being blocked without forfeit.

Members are not allowed to cause the death, injury, or sabotage of any of their cooperative opponent(s) (co-ponent). A word of advice would be to simply stay away from your opponents.

This can include but is not limited to intentionally destroying/damaging their built structures/cover, making them fall, purposely hitting them with boogie bombs, impulse grenades, or to have caused an interruption of healing.

Shooting at or around your opponent in a manor to draw attention to your opponent will result in a forfeit. This is at the admins discretion if it has a drastic effect on the outcome of the match. Proof of an opponent obviously sabotaging the other team in the defined cases above as well as any actions otherwise directly affecting the outcome of the game in an unsportsmanlike manner can result in a forfeit at admin's discretion. A word of advice would be to simply stay away from your opponents.

We must have clear valid video proof that your opponent sabotaged your match to warrant a forfeit or replay if the proof is not clear we can not make the call properly. Please note all decisions are the admins discretion.

In order for sabotage to occur you would have to have a chance to win. For instance if you are are down 5 kills and there are 4 players remaining you could not possibly win therefore sabotage can not occur.

All Fortnite tournaments are global, the hosting team (lowest seed) of each match decides the server.

You may choose either NA or EU as those are the only regions supported by CMG. Failure to choose one of those server options can result in forfeiture. Do not host on Asia or Oceania.

Best of 1: The team with the lowest seed will host. Teams can find their seed number in Match Details and tournament bracket. Please note, host is also displayed in the Match Details page.

Members must have their twitters linked to their CMG profile. In the event an admin needs to contact your team they will message your team through twitter. If you do not have your social media linked and an admin is not able to contact your team, you risk being forfeited.

PC players are not allowed to participate in Console (PS4/Xbox) tournaments/wagers/ladders. If you are found to be playing on a PC in a Console(PS4/Xbox) tournament/wager/ladder you will be forfeited and possibly banned.

PS4 Players may play in PC tournaments/wagers/ladders provided that they have their EPIC account linked and have their PC teammate invite them to the match on the correct gamertag. Their EPIC ID on their CMG  profile must Be the correctly displayed name.(Your Gamertag) At least one member must be playing on PC to participate.

If playing on console in PC tournament/wager/ladder it is your PC teammate's responsibility to get you into the match not the host.

CheckMate Gamaing is not liable for your inability to make it to your match if you play on cross platform and your teammate can't get you in the match on the correct gamertag on time resulting in man down play or forfeiture..

In the event of a tie, the team that stayed alive the longest will receive the win. You must provide valid proof of living longer than your opponent. This means the last to go down/die will receive the win. If the game is won, and kills are tied, the team that got the LAST kill will be considered the winners. This includes all members having zero kills.

If your in-game team does not get the Victory Royale, you can not be awarded kills after the Victory Royale has been awarded, this is in reference to kills that show on the scoreboard/minimap kill count as members of the winning team, exit the server while knocked. Those members should and do not count as kills as obviously their teammate(s) that won the game would have revived them and they only died via technicality.

Fortnite Game Mode Rules

From the match details page you will see match host and each teams gamer tags. The host is responsible for sending friend requests and inviting the non hosting team.

In a 1 vs 1 the hosting team will start a Battle Royale Duo match.

It is NOT based on who last the longest, whichever team has the most kills at the end of the game wins.

In the event of a tie in kills, the team that is still/last STANDING meaning the last to go down will receive the win. If the game is won, and kills are tied, the team that got the last STANDING kill of a player will be considered the winners.

In a 2 vs 2 he hosting team will start a Battle Royale Squad match. It is NOT based on who lasts the longest, whichever team has the most kills at the end of the game wins.

In the event of a tie in kills, the team that is still/last standing meaning the last to go down will receive the win. If the game is won, and kills are tied, the team that got the last STANDING kill will be considered the winners.

If SURVIVAL DEATHMATCH is enabled the rules are changed to as follows:

In a 1 vs 1 the hosting team will start a Battle Royale Duo match.

It IS based on WHO LASTS THE LONGEST, the team that is still/last standing meaning the last to go down will receive the win.

If the game is won, and both teams are still standing, the team that got the most kills will take the win.

If kills are tied and the game is won the last kill of a STANDING player decides the winner.

In a 2 vs 2 the hosting team will start a Battle Royale Squads match.

Drop Zone / Drop Zone Tilted Towers / Maps

Drop Zone IS Played as a kill based Battle Royale game unless otherwise specified

Once all members have landed in the Drop Zone it's advised you stay in and around the area until the first white circle has formed to avoid any confusion as to where you've landed, once the first white circle has formed you are free to go where ever you please.

Drop Zone members have 15 seconds from landing in the wrong location to realize their mistake and leave the game. After 15 seconds the team that did NOT land in the designated location will forfeit. If the team that landed in the wrong location leaves within the alloted 15 seconds the match will be replayed for tournaments. If the opposing team does not agree to replay and the opponent can provide proof of leaving, the match will be cancelled for wagers.

We advise that all members land directly in the designated location to avoid disputes.

For dispute proof of opponents not landing in the designated Drop Zone, you must provide video proof of at least 30 seconds in length from when your team landed preferably showing the first circle forming and your opponent not near the Drop Zone disgnated.

Please note: For all modes other than drop zone, if you choose to land at Tilted towers you accept all game glitches and lag that occurs there. No cancellations or replays will be issued as this is a known issue with the game and is a risk you choose to take. Because Drop Zone forces members to land at Tilted Towers, it is at the admins discretion to issue a replay if a member experiences lag that has an affect on the outcome of the match.

Additional Fortnite Rules

TOURNAMENTS:

1. A team has 15 Minutes from the schedule match time to show for matches; failure to do so could potentially result in a forfeiture of the match. In the situation that the opposing team does not show for the scheduled match, you MUST contact Live Support (Link located in the bottom right of all pages).

2. When alerted to a no show the administrator will then contact your opponent at the 15 minute mark after the scheduled match start time. Your opponents will then have an additional amount of time to respond to the administrator and Join/Host (The additional amount of time is based on the administrator’s discretion).

3. Failure to follow the directions and the set deadlines from the administrator will result in a forfeiture of the match.

4. We do not accept messages between players as proof (Xbox/PSN messages, Twitter, etc.)

WAGERS:

1. A team has 15 minutes from the schedule match time to show for matches; failure to do so could potentially result in a forfeiture of the match. In the situation that the opposing team does not show for the scheduled match, you can begin to record no show proof 5+ minutes long that clearly shows a timezone and you inviting your opponents multiple times then you can report your win, if your opponents then dispute the match you can submit your proof in a wager match dispute ticket. If the proof is not clear enough the match may be cancelled.

2. We do NOT accept messages between players as proof (Xbox/PSN Messages, Twitter, etc)

REPORTING

1. It is the responsibility of all teams involved in a match to report scores. If a team fails to report, the outcome will be determined by the team that did report. If a team reports the wrong score, we cannot guarantee we will be able to overturn the outcome of the match. Our admins will attempt to contact your opponent and determine the correct winner however, if we are not able to 100% determine the correct winner, the match results will stand. If you are found or suspected of having received a non-legitimate win and are found to have lied, you risk being banned.

PLEASE NOTE: If your opponent has already withdrew or used the funds, we cannot guarantee the outcome of the match can be reversed. You are responsible for REPORTING AND REPORTING CORRECTLY.

IN ADDITION: Once a match is cancelled or a team disbands, we cannot reverse the outcome of the match.

Teams must be able to provide proof showing their opponents are dead. Second, teams must show proof of how many kills your opponents had as well as how many kills your team had. Failure to be able to provide of these two requirements of proof in video format may result in an automatic forfeit or replay of the match.

  • Video proof showing your opponents have died with their life bars in full view.
  • In the same video proof showing the party members and their totals kills

CLAN TAG:

We recommend entering the match details clan tag (listed in the match details page) into the Fortnite in-game PARTY Chat prior to readying up.

We also recommend providing full proof starting from the pregame lobby showing clan tag in the in-game party chat, until the match is completed showing the same clan tag in the endgame lobby.

In the event of best of 3, members should put Map 1 clan tag, Map 2 clan tag etc. this will help identify separate proof from different maps. Please note, adding clan tag helps identify fake proof in the event both teams submit proof of winning. Failing to submit full proof with clan tag could result in a match cancelation, forfeiture, or replay if both teams provide proof of winning. It is the players responsibilty to capture adequate proof. We recommend using your Platforms DVR or screen video capture features

Keyboarding on console for Fortnite and Fortnite only (not Call of Duty) is allowed as the game itself has enabled keyboarding.

LAG:

A team has 10 seconds to leave the match due to lag after landing and it will be replayed if they are able to provide proof of lag and leaving the match For 2 vs 2 BOTH team members must leave within 10 seconds. If it is a wager match and your opponent does not agree to replay, you must provide proof of lag and leaving within 10 seconds and the match will be cancelled. If, however in that time you take damage from another player, pick up an item, or your opponent gets a kill/knock the match will stand from that point on. If after this point a member disconnects from the match, the match will not be replayed or cancelled. Enrolling in tournament/wager matches you agree to these terms.

CONNECTION ISSUES:

For tournament matches and live support wager matches, if the team that disconnected is up in kills, it is at the admins discretion if the match is replayed if the admin determines it was a server issue and not the member purposely disconnecting.

IN-GAME GLITCH:

If a team experiences an in-game glitch within 30 seconds of all team members touching the ground, all members from your CMG team must leave the game immediately. If you experience an in-game glitch after 30 seconds from all members touching the ground it is the admins discretion if the match is to be replayed or cancelled depending on the seriousness of the glitch, duration and if it drastically affected the outcome of the match. Enrolling in tournament/wager matches you agree to the known glitches and accept the outcome.

DISCLAIMER:

If you choose to land at Tilted towers you accept all game glitches and lag that occurs there, no cancellations or replays will be issued as this is a known issue with the game and is a risk you choose to take.
