Activision Confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Will Not Release Early

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is set to launch on November 14, 2025, but recent rumors suggested the game might arrive sooner. Fans speculated that either the full release would be moved up or that special editions would include early access — but Activision has officially confirmed that’s not the case.

The speculation began when streamer Scump mentioned shortly after Battlefield 6’s launch that Black Ops 7 could potentially drop ahead of schedule. “Unless they release it early, which I’ve heard rumors they were thinking of pushing the release date up a week,” he said at the time.

Adding to the chatter, well-known leaker TheGhostOfHope posted on X (formerly Twitter) on October 20, saying:

“Seems like there’s some evidence of a potential release date change for Black Ops 7 where it could move up a week. Not sure I buy it yet, but it would be a pleasant surprise if it happens.”

Meanwhile, the PlayStation Game Size account — known for datamining release information from PlayStation servers — fueled the conversation by reporting that the Campaign and Zombies modes were listed for November 10, while Multiplayer was shown as releasing on November 17. “The size and release time may change, but these are the current listed details,” they posted on October 31.

Some fans also pointed to their PlayStation preload counters, which showed the game becoming playable on November 10, furthering the belief that an early drop was on the way.

Then came more confusion when Forbes published an article stating that pre-orders were live “with the Vault Edition offering premium rewards and early access starting November 11.” However, after speaking with Activision representatives, the outlet later updated the piece to clarify that the official release date remains November 14 and that there is no early-access period planned.

So, while the rumors of an early launch stirred excitement in the Call of Duty community, Activision has now put those whispers to rest: Black Ops 7 arrives November 14 — and not a moment sooner.
