Microsoft on Call of Duty for Switch

With the current Activision/Blizzard buyout still in the process, Microsoft has signed many deals to show that Call of Duty will be on other platforms for many years to come. One of the more questionable ones has been Microsoft’s 10 year deal to bring Call of Duty to the Switch. Will this just be a Cloud Gaming version, will they get a completely different version of the game, what will Microsoft be bringing to the Switch?

Microsoft has given some more details on the deal and what to expect from this. They have assured fans that Call of Duty will run at a high degree of technical performance for the Switch and should not worry about visual or frame rate issues due to the hardwares limitation. Their goal here is to give the same experience to all players across multiple platforms and help grow the series and keep players interested.

The Switch hardware is not at the same level as the current or last generation of consoles for power but it’s not something that’s impossible to do. We have seen some great ports made that people thought would never work from the likes of DOOM, Crysis and even more impressive The Witcher 3. It will take a lot of work and talent to make it happen, but Activision has done this before through the entire series making versions of Call of Duty for different platforms and I’m sure they will be able to pull this sort of amazing feat off to enable players to play Call of Duty on the go.
