If you’re trying to stack wins in Call of Duty: Warzone’s Black Ops Royale mode, there’s one LMG that clearly stands above the rest.
Since Black Ops Royale removes custom loadouts, everyone drops in with just a pistol and has to loot weapons on the fly. That makes it tricky to know what’s worth picking up—but as the meta develops, a few guns are starting to separate themselves. One in particular dominates long-range fights: the MK.78.
This LMG was already solid on Verdansk, but with Avalon being even larger, it’s become even more effective. It hits hard, kills quickly, and is incredibly easy to control, making it perfect for picking off enemies at range.
Testing shows it can down a fully armored opponent in around 644ms up to 56 meters, outperforming other popular options like the AK-27. While most Assault Rifles lose effectiveness at extreme distances, the MK.78 still holds strong, with a 748ms TTK out to 80 meters.
On top of that, it received a small damage boost and recoil reduction in the Season 2 Reloaded update—so it’s actually stronger now than before.
Even top creator WhosImmortal has highlighted it as one of the best weapons this season, pointing out its top-tier TTK and minimal recoil. In his words, it’s basically a “laser beam” for mid-to-long-range fights.
To get the most out of it, upgrade the weapon using Attachment Kits when you find them. Adding better barrels, grips, and stocks will improve its control and handling even further, especially at longer distances.
For close-range situations, it’s smart to pair it with a strong SMG like the Ryden 45K or Dravec 45, giving you a reliable backup when fights get up close.
