New Battlefield Game Coming Soon

Battlefield has solidified itself as being a first-person shooter series that is designed for players who prefer realism over accessible gameplay. Typically it seemed like Battlefield was presenting itself more as the alternative to Call of Duty, but now they are looking to surpass them. Fans of the series can rejoice as EA has confirmed that a new Battlefield game will be releasing this year and it will be playable as soon as next month at the E3 2018 Expo.

EA CEO Andrew Wilson had lot to say about the upcoming Battlefield title saying, “This will be a deep and fully featured shooter and ongoing service that will evolve with major new experiences for our community, beginning right from launch,” While talking about the new multiplayer Wilson said, “All of the things that a Battlefield fan would expect out of a multiplayer game from DICE in the Battlefield universe will be there, while additional innovations in how we're thinking about the future of multiplayer in first-person shooters will also be there, both at launch and over time as part of a live service."

Based on Wilson’s words, DICE has some lofty goals for their upcoming gaming especially when it comes to multiplayer. What exactly this ongoing service that is looking to constantly evolve the gameplay ends up being will be a huge determining factor on whether or not this game will be a success. If it is something similar to Fortnite where they are constantly changing up aspects of the maps, weapons, and the gameplay as a whole, then it will likely be a welcome change. However, if it’s something similar to their infamous pay to play style that nearly ruined DICE’s Battlefront series, then it could lead to yet another disaster. Luckily we don’t have much longer to wait to see just how much EA will live up to its word and whether or not they will ruin yet another beloved series.
