Treyarch's Zombie Teaser

With just seven days left until the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 community event, Treyarch decided to tweet out a teaser confirming Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will definitely have a zombie mode. The teaser itself is an image of what looks like a decomposing man holding an ornate mask with a series of hieroglyphic-like markings spelled out across the image. At the bottom of the picture are the words, “Mankind’s reckoning will be its salvation.”

It’s a pretty cryptic teaser that like most teasers, doesn’t really give us much to work with. What we do know is that the upcoming Call of Duty will definitely have a zombie mode which is certainly good news for any fan of the series since it’s undoubtedly one of the best features of the Call of Duty series. As for the image itself, what does it all mean? What’s with the mask? What do the strange markers mean and why are some of them, different colors? Why is the man decomposing like a zombie yet clearly looks sentient? There are a lot of questions but not many answers.

Still, while we don’t have much to work with it’s tough not to get excited about what the new zombie mode will be like especially when considering that there won’t be a traditional campaign mode. Without a single player story mode, this upcoming zombie mode has a pretty prime opportunity for being the upcoming game’s primary story mode so hopefully, the developers have something up their sleeves for making zombie mode a little more than just trying to stay alive for as long as possible. Call of Duty WWII made some pretty solid strides as far as making their zombie experience feel a little less repetitive with the addition of clear objectives and class types, but I would like to see Black Ops 4 take things another step forward. With the community event just around the corner, we will hopefully get some questions answered and hopefully some great gameplay along with it.
