Warzone Movement Update

After extensive testing, wall jumping and grapple hooks are being introduced as standard features in Call of Duty: Warzone with Season 3.

When Black Ops 7 launched in November 2025, one of its standout additions was wall jumping. This movement mechanic lets players push off walls to gain height and even link multiple jumps together.

However, when the game was integrated into Warzone, the feature was absent. Raven Software tested it in several limited-time modes, but the core Battle Royale and Resurgence experiences continued using movement from the Black Ops 6 era.

Grapple hooks and wall jumping become default

That is about to change. Wall jumping will arrive alongside grapple hooks when Season 3 launches on April 2.

“Get ready to jump, dive, and grapple your way across Call of Duty: Warzone,” the developers stated in the announcement blog. “Wall-jumping and the Grappling Hook will be available in Battle Royale and Resurgence matches from the start of the season, including Verdansk.”

Players are already familiar with grapple hooks, as they have been a key feature in Black Ops Royale since Season 2. Found as ground loot and equipped in the Tactical slot, they allow quick movement up buildings or across rooftops.

Wall jumping, on the other hand, will be enabled by default for all players. There is no need to find specific loot or perks to use it. From the start of each match, players can jump off most smooth surfaces.

With both mechanics added, Warzone is expected to feel significantly different, offering greater mobility and more ways to outmaneuver opponents.

Season 3 is shaping up to be a major update, also introducing a large-scale map rotation for the first time.
