Verdansk Stadium Roof Set to Reopen in Warzone Season 5 — and This Time, You’re in Control
The iconic Verdansk Stadium is finally reopening in Warzone Season 5 — but unlike before, players will get to trigger the event themselves.
Season 3 marked the return of Verdansk to Warzone, drawing players back to the beloved original map. However, it wasn’t the version that disappeared with Caldera in 2021; instead, it was the launch version from 2020. That meant areas like the Train Station were off-limits, and the Stadium roof was still sealed shut.
Now, in Season 5, that’s about to change — with a twist.
Stadium Roof Blown Open in Explosive New Event
While the Stadium roof was previously destroyed from the outside, this time it will be blasted off in dramatic fashion — by a laser fired into space. According to the Season 5 blog, a screenshot shows a bright red beam erupting from the stadium and shooting skyward.
Even better, players can initiate the event themselves via a new in-game Contract. As the blog explains: “Breach the stadium in possibly the most impressively explosive way possible as you and other enemy squads race to complete the multi-step Satellite Hijack Contract.”
This Contract will only be available during the first week of Season 5, starting August 7. After that, the Stadium roof will stay open permanently, with the entire interior becoming accessible.
New LTM: Stadium Resurgence
Following the roof's destruction, a limited-time mode called Stadium Resurgence will launch. It plays like regular Resurgence but is confined entirely to the stadium and surrounding area, making for fast-paced, close-quarters action.
All of this sets the stage for Warzone’s next chapter, as the story nears its conclusion ahead of Black Ops 7. What comes next is unclear, but the newly accessible stadium contains a hidden compound packed with secrets — and possibly clues about the future.
