Warzone Season 2 Reloaded Explained

Season 2 Reloaded is the next major update coming to Warzone, bringing a range of new content including additional weapons, a brand-new competitive mode, and a long-awaited battle royale experience inspired by Blackout.

The Season 2 launch already delivered plenty of content for players. It introduced the EGRT-17 Assault Rifle, alongside the usual round of weapon buffs and nerfs. The update also added Winter Rebirth, which gave the classic Resurgence map a snowy visual overhaul.

However, as with most seasonal updates, the launch patch is only the start. The developers have even more content planned for the mid-season update.

Here’s everything we know so far about Warzone Season 2 Reloaded.

When does Warzone Season 2 Reloaded start?

The Season 2 Reloaded update goes live on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 4 PM GMT.

Meanwhile, the Black Ops Royale mode arrives shortly after, launching on March 12 at 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET (March 13) / 4 AM GMT (March 13).

New weapons

Two new weapons will arrive with the update: the Voysk KT-3 and the Swordfish A1.

The Voysk KT-3 is an Assault Rifle designed for high damage output and strong weapon handling. It fires at a slower rate but comes with moderate to high recoil. Its overall performance is said to be somewhat similar to the AK-27.

The Swordfish A1, on the other hand, is a Marksman Rifle that focuses on accuracy. It fires fast quad-burst shots and reportedly has the lowest recoil in its weapon class.

Both weapons will be unlocked through in-game events that take place after the update launches.

New modes

Season 2 Reloaded will also introduce two new game modes.

The first is Extreme Resurgence, which takes place on Haven’s Hollow. This mode doubles the number of squads in the lobby, increasing the player count to 100 and creating much more chaotic matches.

Another new mode arriving in the update is Iron Gauntlet. This competitive mode is based on the popular Iron Trials ruleset, where players have increased health and resources are much harder to find. For now, Iron Gauntlet will launch as a beta and will rotate alongside Resurgence Ranked.

Black Ops Royale

The biggest addition in Season 2 Reloaded is Black Ops Royale, a new mode heavily inspired by the Blackout battle royale from Black Ops 4.

This new battle royale experience takes place on the Avalon map, which is also featured in BO7’s Endgame mode. While it isn’t a full return of Blackout, the mode borrows many of its core ideas.

Several classic Warzone features are removed in this mode, including loadouts and the Gulag. Instead, players must rely on weapons they find around the map and upgrade them during the match.

Wingsuits also make a return, replacing the standard parachute and allowing players to travel across the map much faster.

The mode will also introduce a brand-new ballistics system that includes bullet drop, making long-range fights more challenging.

New Perks

Season 2 Reloaded will also bring three new Perks that replace existing ones:

  • Momentum (replaces Alertness): Improves close-range weapon handling, increases ADS movement speed, and boosts crouch and prone movement.

  • Berserker (replaces Bom Squad): Grants enhanced movement speed after each elimination.

  • Hunter (replaces Tracker): Temporarily highlights enemy footprints after you damage them and alerts you when someone is aiming at you.

Alongside these additions, the Ghost Perk is also receiving a buff. Players will now be able to stand still for five seconds before the perk deactivates, instead of the previous 1.5-second limit.

What else to expect

The update is also expected to include:

  • Weapon buffs and nerfs

  • New in-game events

  • Weekly challenges

  • New store bundles

  • Additional weapon attachments

That’s everything currently known about Warzone Season 2 Reloaded. More details are expected to be revealed closer to the update’s release.
