Black Ops 7 Beta Update & Upcoming Changes

The Black Ops 7 beta is off to a strong start, with players praising the new omnimovement system and well-designed maps. However, there’s been criticism around slow weapon progression, a fast time-to-kill (TTK), and the use of automatic doors. Treyarch has acknowledged this feedback and shared plans to address these issues.  

Patch Notes – October 3 (Day 2 Update) 

New Content

Multiplayer Maps:

  • New: Imprint

  • Cortex

  • Exposure

  • The Forge

Zombies Maps:

  • New: Vandorn Farm (Survival)

Game Modes:

Multiplayer:

  • New Mode: Overload

  • Team Deathmatch

  • Hardcore Team Deathmatch

  • Domination

  • Hardcore Domination

  • Hardpoint

  • Kill Confirmed

  • Training Course

Zombies:

  • New Modes: Survival, Training Course

UI Fixes:

  • Fixed a Steam issue where social menus would close when the player was set to "away"

  • Fixed an error when switching between menu tabs

  • Resolved a login delay issue

Stability Improvements:

  • Fixed server issues related to loadouts, Tracker Perk, Drone Pod, Pinpoint Grenade, and Skewer Scorestreak


Upcoming Beta Changes

Treyarch outlined several changes coming soon based on player feedback:

Weapon Balance & TTK Adjustments:

  • A full balance pass to fine-tune TTK and ensure all beta weapons are competitive within their classes and roles

Automatic Door Improvements:

  • Some automatic doors will now stay open from the start of the match

  • Doors will remain open longer before closing

  • Players must be closer for doors to open automatically

  • Players can still open doors by shooting them

Weapon XP, Spawning, and Bug Fixes (Coming October 4):

  • Additional tweaks to automatic doors as listed above

  • Improvements to weapon XP gain and spawn logic

  • Bug fixes across multiplayer and zombies


Community Feedback on Doors:
Automatic doors have been a major point of contention. Many players want them removed entirely. Treyarch is exploring options, including reducing the number of doors or allowing them to be disabled in competitive play.
