What’s New: SND, Level Cap, Maps & More
Search & Destroy (SND) Mode Added
One of the big additions in today’s patch is Search & Destroy, arriving in the Open Beta. Treyarch has confirmed that this classic mode is now available under "Open Search & Destroy" meaning fewer matchmaking restrictions (skill matching is relaxed) for more varied matches.
This is a welcome inclusion, as many in the community had requested the tactical, high-stakes gameplay SND offers.
Level Cap Increased (Beta Phase)
In the Early Access portion of the Beta, the level cap was 20. As of today, for the Open Beta, that cap is bumped up to 30.
With levels 21–30 unlocked, new rewards, weapons, perks, and cosmetics become available.
Some examples from the patch:
-
Level 30 unlocks the “Beta Legend” Weapon Blueprint (for the M15 Mod 0)
-
Intermediate levels also unlock new perks, scorestreaks, and equipment (such as a full-auto pistol “CODA 9” at level 22, and the RHINO scorestreak at 30)
Importantly, XP from both Multiplayer and Zombies (Survival mode) contribute toward this shared progression.
It’s worth noting that this cap increase is only for the Beta period. The full game will have its own progression system (including Prestige, etc.).
New Maps & Map Adjustments
The update doesn’t just add a mode it expands the map pool and makes changes to existing ones:
New Map: Blackheart
-
This is a fresh addition in today’s playlist update.
-
The locus of this map is described as urban / corridor-dense, adding a different pace and feel to matches.
Other Maps in Rotation
With the Open Beta update, the maps available include:
-
The Forge
-
Cortex
-
Exposure
-
Imprint
-
Blackheart (new)
Map Tweaks & Door Changes
-
On maps like The Forge and Cortex, several automatic doors have been permanently opened to reduce choke points.
-
The time that automatic doors remain open has been increased (from 2 seconds to 4 seconds) in some cases.
-
The distance at which doors open automatically has also been increased, giving players more leeway approaching from multiple angles.
These adjustments are meant to improve flow, reduce camping around doorways, and give more reaction time for players entering door zones.
