Playstation Hits for Great Prices

Now that Sony’s leadership has officially acknowledged that the PS4 has approached the end of its lifecycle, the company has decided to introduce their new lineup of PlayStation hits for cheaper prices. Sony did the same with its Greatest Hits collection in the past with the PS3. The new lineup consists of some great games such as Yakuza 0, Uncharted 4 and the Last of Us.

All games included in the PlayStation Hits line will be shipped with specialized box art that has a characteristic red strip on the top. While the previous lineup had games with blue cases, the new lineup will have red cases. All PlayStation Hits will be priced at a modest $20 in the US, $20 CAD in Canada and £16 in the UK.

Sony promises that more games will eventually feature on the Hits line in the future. A PlayStation Hits PS4 bundle will also be released, it will be shipped with 1 TB of space and here of Sony’s exclusive PlayStation Hits titles, but the system will only be available in select European markets.

PlayStation Hits lineup is expected to hit the stores beginning June 28 in North America and July 18 in Europe. Third party hits such as Doom and Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain will also make it to the list. Below is a short review of some of the best games on the list:

Doom

Doom picks up where it left Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil in 2005. It has an invigorating single player campaign and an addicting multiplayer version. It currently has a rating of 9/10 on Steam and has come up several premium DLC packs including Unto the Evil, Hell Followed and Blood Fall.

The Last of Us Remastered

The Last of Us saw Ellie and Joel struggle through a post apocalyptic world, fighting through hordes of hostile humans and mutants that cannibalize on human. The game has an online multiplayer mode which features up to 8 players. The game was received amazingly well by critics and got 10/10 score from the majority of reviewers.

Infamous: Second Son

A fairly older title which was released in 2014 to showcase the power of what the PS4 could do with its hardware. Second Son takes place seven years after Infamous 2’s Cole MacGrath sacrifices himself to cure humanity of the plague and destroy The Beast. Players control Delsin Rowe, a Conduit who has superpower abilities to manipulate materials such as smoke, neon, video and even concrete. He can use these materials to make weapons out of them. When you add parkour-style elements such as vertically scaling high rise buildings into the game, it makes for interesting gameplay.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience

Although many players thought that Konami was unable to complete the title’s plot, the gameplay was universally lauded by most critics. Metal Gear Solid 5 does real justice to tactical espionage action and has included several elements that are typical of sandbox action games such as a bigger world to roam, a minimap and even the ability to drive a car around.
