Black Ops Royale finally gets Solos — but developers warn players

The new Black Ops Royale mode in Call of Duty: Warzone has officially added a long-requested Solos option, giving players the chance to jump in alone rather than relying on teammates. However, the developers have made it clear that this new mode comes with an important caveat.

Since its launch, Black Ops Royale has stood out from traditional Warzone by removing core features like custom loadouts, the Gulag, and buy stations. Instead, players rely entirely on ground loot, attachment upgrades, and redeploy mechanics to survive.

Until now, the mode only supported squad-based playlists, which left solo players frustrated. The addition of Solos aims to fix that, letting individuals experience the stripped-back, more survival-focused gameplay on their own.

However, the developers have warned that Solos may not offer the same balanced experience as squad modes. Because the mode was originally designed around team play — including systems like redeploy towers and shared survival mechanics — it can feel much harsher when playing alone.

Without teammates to revive or bring you back, every mistake is far more punishing. The pacing can also feel slower, and certain mechanics may not translate as smoothly into a solo environment.

The warning suggests that Solos is still something of an experiment, and player feedback will likely shape how it evolves. While many fans are happy to finally have the option, others are already raising concerns about how well the mode actually works without squads.

Even so, the addition marks a significant update for Black Ops Royale, as the developers continue refining the mode based on community response.
