Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4

CMG MW4 Arena Rules

Please Read
CMG ARENA is a free to play feature. Live support is available, but support is more limited than it is for tournaments and cash matches.

Arena is designed to mirror Ranked Play as closely as possible. For example, players are not required to stream, if a player disconnects or times out, the match must continue. Snaking and stair glitching is allowed. Etc.

Please read all the rules below before playing. Arena rules differ from those used for regular tournaments, cash matches, and XP matches.

Players are expected to:
  • Join matches promptly.
  • Report losses as soon as the match ends.
  • Work together to resolve issues involving incorrect settings, banned items, or similar rule violations whenever possible.
Failure to meet these expectations may result in a restriction from CMG ARENA.

Regions
Players from any region can join, but only players from the specified region can host.

If you suspect a player is cheating, submit a report using “Report a Cheater” in the user menu.
Recent changes
Effective October 22nd 11:45 PM EDT - Friendly Fire must be set to Punish, and the Friendly Fire Punish Limit must be set to 5 Kills

Effective October 22nd 8:30AM EDT - ALL Pistol Attachments are banned

All new changes will be posted here. Follow us at @CMG_Esports on X for more updates

Ready Up
When a match is found, a pop-up will appear, and you will have 30 seconds to ready up. If any of the 8 players fail to ready up within that time, players who did ready up will automatically return to the queue. Repeatedly failing to ready up will result in a temporary restriction from CMG ARENA.
Strikes
Players may receive strikes for failing to report match results, not showing up, refusing to play, leaving a match, deliberately throwing a match, team killing, repeatedly dying on purpose, or otherwise disrupting the match.

Every 3 strikes results in a temporary restriction from CMG ARENA. The restriction duration increases each time a player accumulates another 3 strikes
PC Players
PC players are currently not required to stream their CMG ARENA matches.
Lobby settings and hosting

The lobby must be set to private. The hosting team is responsible for ensuring all match settings are correct before starting the match. Only host for your team if you are familiar with the required settings and know how to set them up.

Wrong Rules

Search and Destroy

If the match settings are incorrect, a player on your team must switch teams and report the issue in the match chat before either team wins 4 rounds. The host must end the match and restart with the correct settings. Your team is responsible for uploading proof of the incorrect settings in the match chat.

If incorrect settings are confirmed, the non-hosting team keeps all rounds it won. The hosting team forfeits all rounds it won and restarts at zero. For example, if the hosting team was leading 3–2, play would resume with the hosting team trailing 0–2.

Once either team wins 4 rounds without a player switching teams and reporting the incorrect settings in the match chat, the match must be played to completion, and the result will stand.

Respawn (Currently Hardpoint only; Hijack will be added soon)

If the match settings are incorrect, a player on your team must switch teams and report the issue in the match chat before either team reaches 100 points. The host must end the match and restart with the correct settings. Your team is responsible for uploading proof of the incorrect settings in the match chat.

If incorrect settings are confirmed, the non-hosting team keeps all points it earned. The hosting team forfeits all points it earned and restarts at zero. For example, if the hosting team was leading 50–25, play would resume with the hosting team trailing 0–25.

Once either team reaches 100 points without a player switching teams and reporting the incorrect settings in the match chat, the match must be played to completion, and the result will stand.

Banned Items
If an opponent uses a banned item, leave the match immediately and upload proof to the match chat. The match must be restarted without the banned item.

If the violation is confirmed, the team that used the banned item loses one round from its score, with a minimum score of zero. The opposing team keeps all rounds it won. For example, if the team that used the banned item was leading 4–2, play would resume at 3–2.

If the match is played to completion, the result will stand.

Any player found intentionally using a banned item to cause their team to lose rounds will be restricted from CMG ARENA.

No-Shows and Match Conduct
Once a no-show is reported, any players who have not joined the lobby will have 5 minutes from the time of the report to join. If any players are still missing after 5 minutes, the match will be cancelled, and each missing player will receive a strike.
Disconnects
If a player disconnects, the match must continue with the remaining players. The disconnected player may rejoin while the match is in progress.

If the host disconnects and the lobby closes for everyone, the hosting team must rehost within 5 minutes.

Lag
The match must continue unless all players are experiencing lag. If all players are experiencing server lag, the host may end the match, close the lobby, and rehost.
Glitches
Snaking and stair glitching are ALLOWED. Neither will result in a forfeit or replay.

Planting or defusing through objects or walls is ALLOWED.
Reporting Results
All players must report their individual result within 5 minutes of the match ending.

The Advance button becomes available in the match chat 5 minutes after the first result is reported. If your opponents have not reported their loss, wait until the button becomes available before requesting an admin to advance the match.

Using the No Show or Dispute feature to bypass this waiting period will result in a strike.

If an admin is needed to advance the match after the waiting period, each player on the losing team who failed to report their loss will receive a strike.

Every 3 strikes results in a temporary restriction from CMG ARENA. The restriction duration increases each time a player accumulates another 3 strikes.

Report Cheating
We cannot investigate every cheating allegation for each match. If you suspect a player is cheating, complete the match and gather as much evidence as possible. Submit your evidence using the Report a Cheater feature so our team can review the report and take action when warranted.
