Treyarch has rolled out a fresh update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, bringing several fixes and gameplay improvements across multiplayer, Zombies, and other core modes. The May 22 patch mainly focuses on stability updates, balancing changes, and resolving bugs that players have been reporting since the recent season update.
One of the biggest changes in the patch addresses matchmaking and Ranked Play issues, including fixes for players avoiding Skill Rating penalties through exploitative forfeit voting. The update also restores some competitive features that had previously been disabled while developers investigated ongoing problems.
The patch additionally includes several gameplay adjustments for multiplayer and Zombies. According to community reports, some weapon tuning and movement tweaks were introduced, while developers also worked on crash fixes and general performance improvements. Fans have especially welcomed efforts to improve overall stability after recent complaints involving lag, crashes, and oversized update downloads on consoles.
Warzone players also noticed playlist changes tied to the update. Black Ops Royale returned with gameplay modifications previously seen in Hot Pursuit, including revised Last Stand health and new rewards tied to finishing moves and objective activities. However, some fans remain frustrated over missing playlist options such as Solo and Duo Verdansk modes.
While this update is relatively small compared to major seasonal patches, it shows Treyarch continuing to focus on quality-of-life improvements and long-term balance updates as Black Ops 7 evolves. More substantial content updates are still expected later in the season.
