BO7 Anti cheat update

Call of Duty’s development team has given an update on its ongoing fight against cheating after seeing a recent rise in reports across Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play.

According to the latest communication from Ricochet Anti-Cheat, improvements introduced for Season 2 have made Ranked Play significantly cleaner, with nearly 99% of matches now running without cheaters. However, the team noted that Warzone Ranked Play currently experiences more cheating pressure compared to Black Ops 7 multiplayer, mainly because the cloud-based attestation system that helps detect cheats isn’t yet fully active in Warzone. Ricochet says enabling that protection there is a “top priority” and is actively being worked on.

In addition to cloud-based checks, the anti-cheat team is stepping up efforts to detect and restrict unapproved third-party tools and devices that can give players an unfair edge.

Alongside these broader anti-cheat measures, Ricochet updated players about limited matchmaking systems that temporarily group suspicious accounts away from the wider player base. During early Season 2 tuning, a small number of legitimate players were mistakenly caught in these systems, affecting some competitors in Warzone esports qualifiers. Ricochet says it has made targeted adjustments and reports of these incidents have since dropped significantly, with ongoing monitoring to avoid repeat cases.
