Fallout 76 B.E.T.A. is the Full Game

Recently, Bethesda has announced the Break it Early Test Application, or B.E.T.A. and it was confirmed to be the entire game. Along with the announcement, they have announced all progress made on the beta will ship over to the actual release of the game. From what we have seen so far in the trailer and demo at E3, there’s a lot to go over. Let’s take a look into what we can expect from Bethesda’s multiplayer monster, Fallout 76.

From looking at the trailer right away, we know that Fallout 76 is based in West Virginia. The landscape is heavily forested and the vault dwellers have been released after 100 years for “Reclamation Day”, the day humans take back the nuclear wasteland. The developers have stated that the servers won’t be loaded with thousands of players, but only tens maybe a few dozen at most. The size of Fallout 76 was stated to be larger than Fallout 4, but runs on the same engine. Players familiar with the game should be able to catch on a lot faster than new ones.

In terms of the map, Bethesda stated in a Noclip documentary  that they have attempted to regionalize the areas of the map. Some areas will be rural and barren, some flourishing with vegetation, others with city themes, some haunted swamp areas, and more. Along with these diverse areas comes a plethora of monsters and wildlife. Many of West Virginia's myths have been imagined and created as enemies in Fallout 76. Players will be able to experience more intense boss fights with their friends and be able to learn more about the state’s history and stores.

The biggest aspect of Fallout 76 is the multiplayer system and integrating the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. skill tree. Players will be able to specialize their skills and reset them if they choose to later down the road. The old base building system will be back and this time it is portable in the form of a C.A.M.P.. Players can work together, against each other, or adventure alone in the vast wasteland and interact with each other, for the better or worse. The biggest quest for players is to find nuclear codes across the wasteland and secure a nuclear silo. From there they can decide an area to nuke across the entire map regardless of being inhabited by players or not. The area of the aftermath of the nuke will provide new challenges and terrain for players to try their hand at. There are many more unannounced features and events, but we can only speculate until the beta is released.

Bethesda plans to unveil the game through the beta sometime in October and fully release the game on November 14th this year. Register for the beta and join thousands of others in the West Virginia wasteland.
