One Last Zombies Map Awaits in Black Ops 6 — Here’s What We Know

Black Ops 6 still has one more Zombies map on the horizon, but where is this final chapter set, and when will it arrive?

At launch, BO6 introduced two Zombies maps — Liberty Falls and Terminus — each offering a distinct atmosphere. Since then, the Dark Aether storyline has rapidly expanded with the additions of Citadelle des Morts, The Tomb, and Shattered Veil in later updates.

That brings the total to five maps so far, but the journey isn’t over. A sixth and final Zombies map is still on the way, and here’s everything revealed about it so far.

Black Ops 6 Zombies – Map 6 Release Date

The final Zombies map for Black Ops 6 is slated to launch with the Season 5 update, scheduled for August 7, 2025.

This was confirmed during an episode of COD POD, where Senior Director of Communications, Stephanie Snowden, stated:

“I can confirm that the finale of the Black Ops 6 Zombies story, including the new map, will launch at Season 5.”

What’s the Name of the Final Map?

While an official name hasn’t been announced, multiple leaks suggest it will be titled “The Reckoning.”

Dataminer ‘Alaix’ first uncovered the name, and it was later reinforced by a leaked audio file shared by ‘Nanik0s,’ which directly mentioned it.

Setting & Story Details

The final map is set in Janus Towers, as revealed at the conclusion of the Shattered Veil Easter egg. These towering buildings are located in West Virginia, not far from Liberty Falls and the house featured in Shattered Veil.

In the final cutscene, Edward Richtofen is seen guiding Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey toward the towers — where S.A.M. has taken the Sentinel Artifact.

The artificial intelligence aims to merge with Sam Maxis’ body using the artifact in an attempt to seize control of the Dark Aether. It’s likely that The Reckoning will center around stopping S.A.M., recovering the artifact, and possibly helping Richtofen use it to resurrect his family.

Although this wraps up the Black Ops 6 chapter of the Zombies saga, the story will continue in Black Ops 7. According to the game’s official website, round-based Zombies will return and the narrative will dive even deeper into the Dark Aether.
