Fortnite: Season 5 around the corner

Only a few hours remain before Epic Games launches the highly anticipated Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royale. The new season will begin on July 12 and will mark the cut-off date for Season 4 and all its challenges. This means that players who bought Season 4’s Battle Pass have extremely limited time to complete them and earn the season’s skins and reward before they disappear forever.

The most interesting part of Fortnite is its ability to seamlessly play across all the platforms (except for Sony’s PS4 that is). Sony has been dominating the current generation of consoles and feel they have the necessary leverage to isolate their user base from other Fortnite payers. This explains their rigid stance toward cross-progression, but they will always have the opportunity of a safe retreat? But is it too late now for them to allow cross-platforming and not feel embarrassed?

Not all players would like to carry over their experience from season 4 to the next one. Some people feel that their fully upgraded character is better off locked in the confines of the last season. The reward of starting anew with a completely fresh character never gets old for them.

Others are restricted because of console choices. The PS4 currently does not allow cross play and cross progression across other platforms. One player who finished all the challenges on Sony’s PS4 expressed his frustration about not being able to use his character on his mobile phone while away from home and then seamlessly switch to the console when he’s back on the couch.

So many teasers…

There have been numerous in-game teasers foreshadowing season 5, this includes objects that appear out of breaches like an ancient anchor related to Vikings and a wagon related to the old west, implying that there will be several more historical zones in the new season. There is a lot of potential in terms of new map areas, and an entire range of historical skins that cover several themes ranging from Samurai to Greek culture.

We are unsure if Fortnite will reveal all of its hidden gems in one go, or if it would showcase them slowly through the course of the season. Either way, it is an extremely exciting time to be a Fortnite gamer because of the big surprise factor. Epic Games has so many gameplay features hidden that it will be a fun adventure unlocking them during the next ten weeks.

As for those who have yet to unlock the rewards and skins from the previous season, we recommend they should be prioritizing treasure maps and use “search between”. If you have played them, it wouldn’t be difficult to find them. All you have to do is simply look at the map and parachute down to the point and guarantee yourself an easy 10 Battle Stars.

Now the treasure maps may sound difficult, but if you’re using a guide they can be an easy experience. It’s definitely worth your time since these challenges are worth an easy 10 Battle stars each, but you should consistently be able to get them done before other players are able to kill you.
