With the Warzone Season 1 update finally live, a new meta-defining Assault Rifle is poised to take over in the coming weeks thanks to its impressive range and damage output.

Black Ops 7 has now fully integrated with Warzone, bringing every multiplayer weapon into battle royale for the first time. The update also introduced a wave of significant buffs and nerfs, delivering the biggest meta shake-up in quite a while.

Although the older weapons are still perfectly usable, the newer additions are—as usual—stronger and more widely used. If all the changes have left you unsure about what to run, one Assault Rifle stands clearly above the rest: the DS20 Mirage.

DS20 Mirage emerges as Warzone’s top Assault Rifle

Warzone’s mid- to long-range meta is tightly contested, with rifles like the M15 Mod 0 and X9 Maverick delivering competitive TTKs. According to JGOD’s breakdown, these guns sit between 750 and 800ms out to 45 and 55 meters, respectively.

What sets the Mirage apart is its ability to down a fully armored opponent in 792ms out to a massive 62 meters, giving it a slight but meaningful advantage over the field.

On paper, its TTK might look a bit slower, but the DS20’s real strength is its ease of use. With the proper loadout, recoil is almost nonexistent, making it simple to land shots consistently at longer distances.

This means you’ll reach its optimal TTK more reliably than players using other ARs, resulting in overall performance that edges out the competition.

And it’s not just analysts praising it—FaZe Swagg highlighted the Mirage in his Warzone meta video, emphasizing that it hits “super, super hard.”
