Avoid This Warzone Loadout That's Hurting Your FPS

Using one of the current meta loadouts in Warzone might actually be harming your in-game performance, especially when it comes to frame rate drops during combat.

The Grau 5.56 Assault Rifle has regained popularity after a recent nerf to the CR-56 AMAX. But pairing it with the Monolithic Suppressor — often considered the best option — can significantly drop your frames-per-second (FPS) when firing.

Normally, gameplay runs at around 170 FPS, but when using the SWAT 5.56 with the Grau Conversion Kit and the Monolithic Suppressor, FPS can drop to as low as 90 while shooting. Once you stop firing, FPS returns to normal. The issue only arises during active shooting, which is a critical part of gameplay.

Consistent FPS is key to maintaining smooth aim and quick reactions, so any drops can severely impact performance and competitiveness.

Tests show that this problem seems specific to the Grau with the Monolithic Suppressor. Other weapons like the Kilo or AMAX don’t experience the same FPS dip with that suppressor, and the Grau performs normally without it.

Others have also reported the issue, including well-known content creators and players on social media and community forums.

Since the Grau is still a top-tier weapon, it's recommended to use the Ported Compensator instead. This alternative enhances recoil control, making the weapon feel like a laser. If you prefer to stay hidden on the minimap, the standard Suppressor is a decent option, though it slightly reduces the weapon’s effectiveness.

At the time of writing, developers have not yet addressed the issue. It’s just one of several bugs in the current Season 3 Reloaded update. Other problems include ongoing crashing issues in Ranked Play, a bizarre zombie encounter in the Gulag, and a third-person exploit giving players an unfair advantage.

The Season 4 update is expected on Thursday, May 29, and a fix might arrive then or in a smaller patch before that.
