Black Ops 7 1911 Is Broken

A fan-favorite pistol is back in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it’s hitting harder than anyone expected—outperforming even the top-tier SMGs in close-range fights.

Season 3 added a few new weapons like the MK35 ISR and VST, but even more have arrived through Weekly Challenges. In Week 3, players get access to the legendary 1911, a weapon that’s been part of the franchise for years.

The 1911 has appeared in almost every Call of Duty title, but many players remember it most from Zombies, where upgrading it turned it into the iconic Mustang and Sally—dual pistols firing explosive rounds. It’s also returning as the starting weapon in Zombies’ Cursed mode from Season 3 Reloaded, but it’s already proving its strength in multiplayer.

Right now, the 1911 is arguably the best close-range weapon in the game. While pistols are usually a backup option, this one can easily hold its own as a primary. With the MFS Overdrive Auto-Brake Muzzle attached, it becomes fully automatic and can outgun every SMG in the current meta.

It only takes two shots to the chest to eliminate an enemy, giving it a time-to-kill of around 360ms within 11 meters—faster than competitors like the RK-9. Even at longer ranges up to 33 meters, it remains incredibly strong, staying over 100ms quicker than most alternatives.

Its main weakness is accuracy compared to SMGs, but that can be improved using the Recoil Sync Unit Fire Mod. Given how fast it can drop enemies up close, the trade-off is more than worth it.

It’s best used in tight, close-quarters situations, since assault rifles will still dominate at range. Still, having a weapon this powerful without needing an Overkill setup makes it an extremely valuable choice in multiplayer loadouts.
