Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup | Day 3 Recap

Day 3 of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup delivered another packed slate of matches, with Movistar KOI, Team Heretics, Gentle Mates, and OpTic Gaming all coming away with series victories.

While some teams cruised through their matchups, others were pushed across multiple close maps as the competition continued to heat up.

Movistar KOI Defeat Cloud9 3-1

Movistar KOI opened their series against Cloud9 with a dominant showing on Den Hardpoint, taking the map 250-145 to grab an early advantage.

Cloud9 responded immediately on Raid Search and Destroy. After struggling in the opening map, Cloud9 turned things around with a 6-3 victory to even the series at 1-1.

That would be their only map win of the matchup.

KOI regained control on Den Overload, winning 4-1, before closing the series on Sake Hardpoint. They once again controlled the respawn, defeating Cloud9 250-184 to secure the 3-1 series victory.

Team Heretics Sweep Team WaR

Team Heretics put together one of the strongest performances of Day 3 with a 3-0 sweep over Team WaR.

Heretics started the series with a convincing 250-176 victory on Frequency Hardpoint before dominating Gridlock Search and Destroy 6-2.

Team WaR put up their best fight of the series on Den Overload. The map went down to the wire, but Heretics ultimately escaped with a 4-3 victory to complete the sweep.

Gentle Mates Recover to Beat The Pit 3-1

The Pit entered its matchup with Gentle Mates ready to cause problems and immediately made its presence felt.

The Pit captured the opening Scar Hardpoint 250-219, putting Gentle Mates behind early in the series.

Gentle Mates quickly recovered.

A dominant 6-1 victory on Hacienda Search and Destroy tied the series before Mates completely shut down The Pit on Scar Overload, taking the map 4-0.

The fourth map was much closer, but Gentle Mates finished the job with a 250-218 victory on Sake Hardpoint, winning three consecutive maps after dropping the opener.

OpTic Gaming Sweep Project Notorious

OpTic Gaming closed out the slate with a 3-0 victory over Project Notorious.

OpTic began the series by taking Hacienda Hardpoint 250-182 before moving to Sake Search and Destroy.

Project Notorious kept the Search and Destroy competitive, but OpTic held on for a 6-4 victory to move one map away from the sweep.

Den Overload provided another close battle. Project Notorious pushed OpTic throughout the map, but OpTic came away with the 3-2 victory to finish the series without dropping a map.

Day 3 Results

Day 3 saw both dominant sweeps and competitive four-map series as teams continued their runs at the Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup.

Movistar KOI overcame Cloud9 after splitting the opening two maps, while Team Heretics and OpTic Gaming both completed 3-0 sweeps. Gentle Mates were also tested early by The Pit before responding with three straight map victories to secure the series.

With the field continuing to narrow, the pressure will only increase as the tournament moves closer to crowning its Black Ops 7 Esports World Cup champion.
