Call of Duty Devs Commit to Major Fixes After Warzone and BO6 Season 4 Launch Issues
The launch of Season 4 for Call of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6 was marred by numerous technical problems, but developers at Activision are assuring players that significant improvements are underway to prevent similar issues in future updates.
Season 4 Launch Faced Widespread Technical Problems
Released on May 29, Season 4 brought a substantial wave of new content to both Warzone and BO6. However, the excitement quickly turned into frustration as players encountered serious bugs—including frequent crashes, severe lag, stuttering, and even cases where the game uninstalled itself. These problems led developers to temporarily disable Warzone’s Ranked Play mode.
While the most severe crashing bugs have now been addressed, several other technical problems are still under investigation.

During the June 17 episode of the COD POD podcast, Activision directly responded to player concerns. At the 45:14 mark, Senior Director of Communications Stephanie Snowden tackled the question: “What happened with all the bugs at the start of Season 4?”
Snowden responded:
“We play these games too, so we understand how frustrating it is when bugs impact gameplay. Since launch, we've been actively working on fixes. Updates are regularly posted on our CoD Updates site and Trello board.”
“More importantly, we've made some significant internal changes aimed at ensuring future seasonal updates deliver a smoother experience.”
Players Hope for Stability in Upcoming Updates

Looking ahead, Season 4 Reloaded is scheduled to launch on June 26, reintroducing Resurgence Ranked Play and adding the classic Black Ops 3 map Fringe to multiplayer. Then, Season 5 arrives on August 7, concluding the ongoing Zombies storyline with the final chapter.
