Activision has toned down the 4/20 content coming this year in Black Ops 7 and Warzone, but there’s still a Dave Chappelle Operator skin for fans to pick up.
In the past, Call of Duty has gone in pretty hard on the 4/20 celebrations. In Black Ops 6 and Modern Warfare 3, we got entire events packed full of stoner-themed modes, skins, and camos, including the popular Get High obstacle course mode.
So, with the faithful day fats approaching, fans might have been expecting a similarly huge batch of content. Instead, though, the devs aren’t going quite as big this time around, but there is still a crossover with a cult classic movie.
Half Baked skins coming in “scaled back” 4/20 celebration
As revealed in the offciail blo, Black ops 7, brings a bundle full of items from Half Baked, the 1998 stoner comedy starring iconic comedian Dave Chappelle.
The Half Baked Tracer Pack includes a brand-new Operator in the form of Thurgood Jenkins, Chappelle’s character from the film. It comes with two unique skins, as well as Blueprints for the VST and Hawker HX, and a host of Calling Cards and Emotes.
There is currently no official release date, but it will likely arrive somewhere around April 20, for obvious reasons.
f you were expecting more, the official CoD community team posted on Xrevealing that they are deliberately keeping the celebrations more low-key this year.
“We know a lot of players enjoy them, but we’ve scaled back the 4/20 celebrations this year to a single bundle for fans of the Half Baked movie. No events or LTMs this time,” the post reads.
This is likely part of Treyarch’s commitment to ensuring that Black Ops 7 feels authentic Skins have been a hot topic in Call of Duty in recent years, with many fans feeling that there were too many goofy crossovers, and the devs decided to cancel the carry-forward feature for this exact reason.
So, there won’t be as much 4/20 content in Call of Duty this year, but fans can still grab the Dave Chappelle Half Baked skins from the store when they arrive.
