Modern Warfare 4 Confirms Shipment Is Returning

Call of Duty fans will once again be able to jump into one of the franchise’s most chaotic multiplayer maps, as Shipment has been confirmed to return in Modern Warfare 4.

Infinity Ward revealed the news in a rather subtle way. A new trailer highlighting some of the PC and visual features coming to Modern Warfare 4 briefly showed players battling around the familiar shipping containers of Shipment.

The map appears only for a few seconds in the trailer, but its inclusion was enough for fans to quickly recognize the iconic location.

Shipment is coming back

Shipment has become one of the most recognizable maps in Call of Duty history since first appearing in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

Its extremely small layout has made it a favorite for players looking to get into fast-paced gunfights, level weapons, complete challenges, and grind through camos. At the same time, its chaotic nature has made it one of the more divisive maps in the franchise.

The map has already appeared in several Call of Duty titles, including every Modern Warfare game in the rebooted series since 2019.

Its return in Modern Warfare 4 therefore isn't particularly surprising, but it does give players another familiar map to look forward to.

When will Shipment arrive?

While Shipment has now been confirmed for Modern Warfare 4, Infinity Ward has not revealed exactly when players will be able to play it.

Importantly, Shipment was not included among the game's announced launch maps. This suggests that it could arrive as part of Modern Warfare 4's post-launch content rather than being available from day one.

Previous Modern Warfare games have followed a similar approach. Shipment was added to Modern Warfare II after launch, while Modern Warfare III also brought the map into its multiplayer offering shortly after release.

If Infinity Ward follows the same strategy this time around, Shipment could arrive around the beginning of Season 1.

There's also a strong possibility that the map could receive its own dedicated 24/7 playlist. That would give players an easy way to jump into back-to-back matches on the tiny map, something that has become particularly popular among those looking to quickly level weapons or complete challenges.

Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23, 2026, with Shipment expected to join the multiplayer lineup at some point after release.
