New Fortnite Map Updates

With the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass being released, there are many new places and secret sights to explore on the new map.

Fortnite Season 4 Battle Royale started with a comet hitting Dusty Depot, turning it into Dusty Divot. Dusty Divot is now a giant crater with a huge research base in the middle of it with half of Dusty Depot still in tact. This has become the a hot spot for players because of the blue Hop Rocks, which allow you to leap higher, and plenty of loot. To find the loot, you must enter the white rooms from the south because the area is fenced off on the north side.

Risky Reels is the new location added to the map, but not as exciting as Dusty Divot.  The fenced off square area filled with abandoned cars, also has a crater in the middle of it. The buildings on the outside of the square have some loot and a destroyed projector on the south side.

Other than Risky Reels and Dusty Divot, many other places on the map have been altered due to the comet crashing, but only for the aesthetics of the map to go with the storyline. Craters can be found inJunk Junction, Snobby Shores, Fatal Fields and Tilted Towers. Moisty Mire has two craters and a new film set with a helicopter and other props.

The crater and new locations are just the obvious changes made to the map, but there are many other secret spots that have been discovered by players completing the week 1 challenges. Many fans have discovered underground secret rooms that all have a similar logo, and shared their findings on Reddit.

Here is where all the underground rooms can be found:

  • On the southeast of Lonely Lodge, there is a house that has an underground base which can be accessed by building a ramp off the edge of the cliff or breaking through the floor. There, you will find a secret layer, equipped with computers, security cameras and a locker room.
  • A  similar secret lair in Salty Springs can be found through a hole hidden behind a staircase.
  • On the northeast of Snobby Shores, you will find a house on a mountain with a giant missile sticking out. If you go into the silo, you'll find more computers, cars, and security cameras, as well as another logo.

The last finding was discovered just days after the Season 4 release, giving players a clue for speculation on what the Season 5 theme might be or what Season 4 has in store for them. A huge dinosaur track was found by a destroyed building west of Greasy Grove. There is many theories on what this could be but nothing has been confirmed, except that there has been dinosaur related logos and skins seen in the Season 4 trailer.

Either way, these new map updates are exciting to see because the game is always evolving. Epic Games keeps their players on their toes and anything they tried to hide in their map will be found in no time, and new theories will sprout from these findings.
