Pred and Sib Reunion Rumored as Vancouver Surge Explore Major Roster Rebuild

The Vancouver Surge could be looking toward their past as they prepare for their next chapter, with Amer “Pred” Zulbeari and Daunte “Sib” Gray reportedly being targeted for a reunion.

According to a report from Breaking Point, Pred has emerged as Vancouver's top target as the organization looks to rebuild its roster, while the Surge are also exploring the possibility of bringing Sib back alongside his former teammate. No roster has been finalized, and Sib is reportedly drawing interest elsewhere, but the potential reunion immediately brings back memories of one of the most successful periods in franchise history.

Before the organization became the Vancouver Surge, Pred and Sib burst onto the scene together under the Seattle Surge banner. Alongside Lamar “Accuracy” Abedi and Makenzie “Mack” Kelley, the young duo helped transform Seattle from a struggling franchise into a legitimate championship threat during the Call of Duty: Vanguard season.

Pred and Sib Already Know How to Win Together

The defining moment of that roster came at CDL Major III in 2022.

Seattle battled through the tournament before meeting the powerhouse Atlanta FaZe in the Grand Final. Pred, Sib, Accuracy and Mack ultimately defeated FaZe 5-3, securing Seattle Surge's first Major championship and establishing Pred and Sib as two of the brightest young talents in competitive Call of Duty.

That Vanguard season became a breakout year for both players. Pred went on to earn 2022 CDL Rookie of the Year honors and First Team All-Star recognition, while Sib was named a Second Team All-Star. The Surge also finished third at the 2022 CDL Championship, proving their Major III run was far from a one-off performance.

Now, four years later, Vancouver could attempt to recreate some of that chemistry.

And there could be another championship-caliber name joining them.

Skyz Could Make the Reunion Even More Interesting

Breaking Point also reports that Vancouver is considering Cesar “Skyz” Bueno as one of its options for the veteran AR position.

Skyz would add another World Champion to a potential roster already headlined by Pred.

Skyz reached the top of competitive Call of Duty with the New York Subliners in 2023, when NYSL dominated Toronto Ultra 5-0 in the CDL Championship Grand Final. Skyz competed alongside HyDra, KiSMET and Priestahh on the title-winning roster.

One year later, his career became directly connected with both Sib and Pred.

Sib joined Skyz, HyDra and KiSMET on the Subliners for the 2024 season. The team eventually won Major IV and made another deep run at the biggest tournament of the year, reaching the 2024 CDL Championship Grand Final.

Waiting for them on the other side was Pred.

Pred had left Seattle to join OpTic Texas and entered Champs alongside Shotzzy, Dashy and Kenny. That meant Sib and Skyz were attempting to win a World Championship together while Pred, Sib's former Surge teammate, stood directly in their way.

OpTic ultimately dominated the Grand Final 5-1, giving Pred his first World Championship while leaving Sib and Skyz one series short of the title.

A Vancouver roster featuring all three would therefore bring together players whose careers have repeatedly crossed paths.

Pred and Sib won their first CDL Major together.

Sib and Skyz later reached a Champs Grand Final together.

And Pred was the player standing across the stage when they lost it.

A Homecoming With Serious Potential

There would also be something fitting about Pred and Sib returning to the franchise where they originally made their names.

Seattle Surge officially became the Vancouver Surge following the franchise's relocation in 2024, meaning this would not simply be two former teammates joining another organization. It would effectively be a return to the same franchise that gave Pred and Sib their opportunity to become CDL stars.

The circumstances are much different now.

Pred would return as a World Champion rather than the rookie superstar Seattle originally took a chance on. Sib has accumulated years of experience competing on championship-contending rosters. If Skyz joins them, Vancouver would also gain another World Champion and a veteran AR who has already proven he can win alongside Sib.

There are still major questions to answer. Vancouver would need another SMG to complete the reported vision for the roster, Sib's services appear to be attracting competition, and Breaking Point stresses that nothing has been finalized.

But the possibility alone creates one of the more intriguing stories of rostermania.

Four years after Pred and Sib lifted the Major III trophy together in Vanguard, the duo could find themselves wearing the Surge colors once again — this time in Vancouver, with a World Championship, another Champs Grand Final appearance and years of experience between them.

If Skyz joins the project as well, Vancouver wouldn't just be betting on individual talent.

They would be bringing together three players with a remarkable amount of shared championship history — including one unforgettable Champs Final where they were standing on opposite sides of the stage.
