What to Expect From the Next Xbox

It’s always been a matter of pride for Microsoft to be a leader in whichever market it enters. This policy has yielded them some of their greatest triumphs i.e. Windows, while it has also led them to develop the catastrophe known as the Zune. One of the highlights of the company’s success stories over the years has been its love affair with the gaming industry. Not only does it continue to produce games that have been heralded as some of the best-ever, but it gave the industry an eternal rival to the PlayStation.

Ask two console gamers which platform they prefer and the answer will be Xbox and PlayStation. What follows will be a lengthy and in-depth argument between the two on the merits and demerits of their respective consoles. First it was the Xbox, then the Xbox 360 and then came the Xbox 1. They’ve gone one on one with Sony’s PlayStation II, PlayStation III and PlayStation IV.

So when the news hit the market that Sony would probably be coming up with its successor to the PS4 something in late 2019, it wasn’t long until similar developments started coming from Microsoft. So, for fans of the Xbox, here are some of the features that are most likely to be in next rendition of Microsoft’s Xbox.

Backwards Compatibility

This has been the demand that every gamer has made when it comes to both the next PlayStation as well as the Xbox. Xbox has produced some remarkably extraordinary games that have helped solidify its position within the market. It’s completely natural that fans would want the chance to keep playing these games on their new devices. There are still questions on whether the new devices will even have disc compatibility as there are rumors that both Sony and Microsoft could ditch the disks and focus on downloadable content while compensating users via significantly more space.

4K Resolution

The TVs are capable now. This was a valid excuse in 2013 when the technology to handle the display mechanisms wasn’t as easily available as it is today. Resolution has always been an issue where the gamers remain convinced that Microsoft will design the next Xbox to be compatible with the 4K resolution devices. It would be a major surprise as well as a disappointment if this feature wasn’t included in the device this time round.

VR

VR’s the next big thing. Everyone knows that. It has slowly begun to feel like the next big thing after the internet. It takes the concept of reality to a different level and allows the users a feeling of emersion that was not even imaginable a decade ago. There is little or no doubt that the future of gaming is intricately connected with the future of VR. The technology will only improve from now till the time they begin development of the product. The next Xbox might be the perfect opportunity to include a feature that certainly represents the future of gaming.
