Players who pre-order the game will receive Early Access to the multiplayer beta from August 21 through August 25. Shortly after, the beta will open to everyone between August 28 and September 1, allowing all players to test the game's multiplayer without needing a pre-order.

The beta will include a variety of multiplayer content, including new maps, game modes, Operators, and an extensive selection of weapons. Players can also expect to experience everything from small-scale 3v3 matches to larger battles featuring vehicles. One of the biggest highlights is Kill Block, a new multiplayer map designed to deliver dynamic combat scenarios

Activision has also confirmed that Call of Duty: NEXT will take place on August 21, giving fans a detailed look at the game's multiplayer features, developer insights, and additional announcements just before Early Access begins

Modern Warfare 4 launches on October 23, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. Players who pre-order digitally will automatically receive Early Access to the beta, while physical pre-orders will include a beta code from participating retailers
