The mid-season update has delivered a range of buffs and nerfs across the board, but fans quickly noticed that many classic weapons from MW3 and MW2 received significant boosts. While not every gun from these titles got attention, some of the most popular weapons were given notable improvements.
For example, assault rifles like the TAQ-56 (MW2) and Holger 556 (MW3) had their damage values increased across all ranges. In certain cases, damage now reaches up to 40 at mid-to-long distances, which significantly lowers their time-to-kill (TTK) and makes them serious competitors against the BO6 guns.
Additionally, these weapons received other enhancements, including increased bullet velocity and reduced visual recoil, making them more precise and easier to handle.
This trend of improvements extends to other weapon categories, with SMGs, in particular, getting substantial buffs. The WSP-9 (MW3) and MX9 (MW2) saw the most significant increases, now dealing 45 and 38 damage respectively at ranges of 11-12 meters.
