Three Streamers to Watch

Let’s be real here, ever since the algorithm change and the demonization/ad revenue fiasco YouTube hasn’t been the same and YouTubers are leaving the platform in droves. So what’s next you ask, where is the new frontier? Look no further than Twitch.tv. Twitch.TV started out as a living streaming platform that was predominately video game focused but since adding sections like IRL, Creative and Music, Twitch has turned into so much more. Looking at the twitch browse menu can seem like a lot and you’re probably thinking where do I even start? Well here are five streamers that will give you a good idea of what to expect from the platform.

First up, we got Dr. Disrespect. Dr. Disrespect (real name Guy Beahm) is a streamer unlike any other. While finding streamers who are really good at the particular game they are playing is common, what is rare is finding a streamer who is both good and plays entirely in a character that they almost never break from. Dr. Disrespect is the Two-time, 6’8 Powerhouse, with a 37” vertical leap, and the self-proclaimed face of Twitch. With a fake mullet, Shades, and a intimidating mustache, Dr. Disrespect has the aesthetic of and 80s movie villain. Dr. Disrespect’s trash talking attitude never gets old and his wisecracks are bound to provide you with some belly laughs while watching him rack up the victories in either PUBG or Fortnite.

If you’re looking for someone more friendlily and inviting, Streamer Pokimane is a great introduction. Poki is one of the most wholesome and fun streamers on twitch, which is surprising considering she built her community playing the infamously toxic League of Legends. Poki’s stream is a stream you can’t help but watch with a smile on your face, even if it’s not always the highest level gameplay.

Last but certainly not least is a name you might already know from outside the Twitch world. Andy Milonakis, that’s right the guy with peas on his head but don’t call him a pea head. IRL is largely seen as the wild west of Twitch but nobody handles it better than and as wholesome as Andy. As someone who got their start doing man on the street style comedy, it is no surprise that Andy is so confident and unphased streaming in the outside world. You never know what could happen on an Andy Milonakis stream and that’s the beauty of it.

Twitch is still a growing phenomenon with many still unsure of its full potential. If there’s ever been a time to get on the bandwagon its right now, before it gets too big and forgets about the people that helped make it *cough cough* YouTube…
