It's been two years since Modern Warfare 3, developed by Sledgehammer Games. Initially planned as an expansion for Modern Warfare II, it evolved into a full sequel advancing Task Force 141's saga and spotlighting villain Makarov. Despite a hurried launch, it laid groundwork for future stories.

Modern Warfare 4 is anticipated for 2026, reportedly featuring settings in Korea. Activision hasn't confirmed details, but it aligns with recent release patterns.
